Horse named after porn star returns after being secretly bought by Shishkin’s owners ahead of Cheltenham Festival

A HORSE named after a porn star and trained by Willie Mullins makes her long-awaited return tomorrow – ahead of potential Cheltenham Festival glory.

The electrifying Brandy Love has been secretly bought by Joe and Marie Donnelly, Shishkin’s owners.

Brandy Love shares a namesake with ‘milf’ porn star Brandi Love

A former racecourse bookie turned art collector, the Donnellys are some of the biggest owners in the game.

And they boast a bank balance of around £170million to back it up too.

They have added seven-year-old mare Brandy Love to their stable of superstars, which also includes the likes of State Man, Gaillard Du Mesnil and Haut En Couleurs.

The couple also saw huge success with two-time Gold Cup winner Al Boum Photo.

And now they are targeting more after buying Brandy Love off former owner Michael Grech in a secret deal.

Brandy Love has been off the track since demolishing Love Envoi in a Mares’ Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse last April.

She was pulled out of last year’s Festival and prior to that came second to current Mares’ Chase favourite Allegorie De Vassy.

That doesn’t tell the whole story though, as on the right-handed Fairyhouse track, Brandy Love lost several lengths jumping repeatedly left.

Such a trait, while hopefully corrected by Mullins, will still be an asset at the left-handed Cheltenham.

Brandy Love is currently a best-priced 9-2 for the red-hot Mares’ Hurdle.

Dual Champion Hurdle winner Honeysuckle is the 5-2 fav with Epatante and Marie’s Rock both 4-1.

Brandy Love’s warm-up for the blockbuster contest on the first day of the Festival will come in a Grade 3 at Punchestown on Wednesday.

She has to give 9lb to Queens Brook and Alfie Rose and 12lb to the rest of the field, which includes the likes of Rebel Ivy and Anna Bunina.

Victory will more than likely see her shorten for the Mares’ race, which has turned into one of the best showdowns of the week.
