ATSU’S BODY ARRIVES IN WORLD FOOTBALL MOURNS HIS SAD PASSING

The body of Christian Atsu Twasam has arrived in Ghana. Atsu who was wrapped in a casket arrived by Turkish airlines this afternoon at the Kotoka International Airport.

The Black Stars winger was found dead after over a week of search for him in the aftermath of the Earthquake in Turkey and Syria.

His wife and children were invited today to watch the Newcastle vs Liverpool match in the English Premier League. A minute’s silence was observed in England before kickoff of the various league matches.

Atsu played signed for Chelsea from FC Porto but never played an official game for them. He later played for Newcastle United.

He was caught in the rumble after featuring for his Turkish side Hatayspor in the Turkish Super Liga. Atsu significantly scored his last goal on the eve of the Earthquake when his side played against Kasimpasa.

The 31 year old footballer was found stuck in the walls of the collapsed build of his residence.

Atsu’s death came as a big hit to the entire football world as a result of his great charity works in Ghana and abroad.

A minute’s silence would be observed by teams during the BET PAWA Premier League matches across Ghana. This was directed by the Ghana Football Association in observance for the sad loss of Atsu.

He played 65 times for Ghana including the 2014 FIFA World Cup and also won silver with the Stars in the 2015 African Cup of Nations.

There have been several messages to show condolence for the family of 31-year-old footballer.
