Conor McGregor has bloodsucking cupping to deal with ‘trauma’ after being knocked off bike as he trains for UFC return

CONOR MCGREGOR has undergone a cupping session to help with the “trauma” he believes he received from his recent bike accident.

The Notorious was knocked off his bike by a car during a recent cycle in Dublin, an accident he believes could have claimed his life.

McGregor thanked his lucky stars after the near brush with death, which has seemingly left him with some damage to his right shoulder.

The Notorious shared a snap of himself undergoing a cupping treatment – which draws blood out of suction points to clear stagnated blood and improve circulation – to his Instagram on Saturday night.

His accompanying caption read: “Got a bang of a car full speed.

“Feel good tho but defo some trauma.

“Appreciate the help from my long-time masseuse and friend, doctor pain @vasile_bria_dr_pain.”

McGregor signed off his post with a heartfelt message to the victims of the deadly earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

His post continued: “God bless all of those in Turkey and Syria currently!

“Mother Nature please go easy on our bodies. God please, our souls.”

McGregor, 34, is no stranger to undergoing cupping therapy, having it before his 2018 grudge match with Khabib Nurmagomedov and Fight Island rematch with Dustin Poirier.

The UFC‘s poster boy hasn’t set foot inside the octagon since breaking his leg in his trilogy fight with Poirier in July 2021.

But he’s set to return to the cage later this year in a blockbuster showdown with Michael Chandler.

A date for the fight, however, hasn’t been announced.

But the pair will throw down after coaching opposite one another on season 31 of the Ultimate Fighter.

The fight date currently hinges on when McGregor re-enters the United States Anti-Doping Agency’s drug test pool, which he must be in for a minimum of six months before being eligible to compete.

UFC president Dana White recently told Fanatics View: “People were asking me earlier about the Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler fight and [wondering] where it’s going to be.

“We don’t know yet, we’re kind of working that out.

“But to go to [AT&T] Stadium, you have to have the right fight.

“Conor and Chandler are doing The Ultimate Fighter this year.

“They’re coaching it.

“And it’s the first time it’s going to be on ESPN the network — which will make the fight even bigger.

“Dallas, [AT&T] Stadium is a possibility. They’re in the running for the fight.

“When you look at a fight of that magnitude, you have to look at Madison Square Garden, obviously Vegas .

“Which we could do the stadium there, or T-Mobile Arena —[Allegiant] Stadium, or you could do a massive stadium in London.”
