ROBERTO CARLOS believes two England World Cup stars would get into the Brazil team – including one fringe man in Gareth Southgate’s squad.

The 2002 World Cup winner, 49, heaped praise on the English game and revealed he watches as much action as possible.

That includes recent matches involving West Brom, Fulham and Birmingham at home on TV.

And despite Brazil currently having a “really good team”, Carlos identified two of the Three Lions who touched down in Qatar as good enough to wear the famous yellow jersey for the Selecao.

One is more obvious – England skipper and first-choice striker, Harry Kane.

But the second may be more surprising, considering the ongoing debate about his defensive capabilities as a right-back.

However, Carlos is confident Trent Alexander-Arnold would be good enough to slot into Tite’s side.

The iconic left-back told The Telegraph: “Alexander-Arnold has to be there – because he’s among the best ones.

“Kane is a good player too.

“You have a good team, not just in terms of names but in terms of players who have trained well and are ready to play at a World Cup – or to play for the Brazilian national team.

“I’d say those two [Kane and Alexander-Arnold], but there are more.

“There’s a lot of quality in the England team. You have a lot of quality.”

Carlos played a key part in the 2002 success in Japan and South Korea as Ronaldo inspired the Brazilians to a 2-0 win over Germany in the final.

Since then, they have been knocked out in three quarter-finals and a semi-final, that humiliating 7-1 defeat by Germany in Belo Horizonte.

But Brazil go into Qatar 2022 as pre-tournament favourites with their best chance of going all the way for 20 years.

The 26-man list of stars representing the South American nation in the Middle East includes 12 Premier League players such as Antony, Alisson, Fabinho and the surprise addition of Gabriel Martinelli.

Carlos added: “The Brazil national team, both men’s and women’s, has always maintained a joyful atmosphere.

“They should understand that’s the only way to keep people happy, enjoying a great World Cup, having fun and bringing great joy to this country; Brazil, a football country.

“We haven’t won it for a long time, now it’s time to win the trophy.
