FA Cup 2nd round draw revealed as giant killers Alvechurch are rewarded with another League One tie

GIANT KILLERS Alvechurch have been rewarded with another FA Cup tie with a League One team as they’re drawn against Forest Green Rovers.

The non-league side booked their place in Monday’s second round draw with a 2-1 away win over Cheltenham at the weekend.

Danny Waldron opened the scoring in the 19th minute before doubling Alvechurch’s lead in the second half.

Ryan Jackson pulled a goal back for League One Cheltenham but it wasn’t enough to stage a comeback.

And now the lowest ranked team in the FA Cup second round draw will travel to Forest Green Rovers.

They’re 91 places below Forest Green Rovers in the English pyramid and the non-league side are fourth bottom of the seventh tier.

Alvechurch’s trip to Forest Green will be played on Saturday, November 26.

Championship and Premier League teams will then enter for the third-round games in early January.

Alvechurch skipper Jamie Willetts is eyeing another FA Cupset.

He said: “Why not, going there with belief. Hopefully we can win.”
