Sky Sports commentator slams Ryder Cup star Tyrrell Hatton as a ‘terrible influence’ for snapping a club in anger
TYRRELL HATTON was blasted by a Sky Sports commentator as a “terrible influence on the next generation” after snapping his club in fury.
The in-form Ryder Cup star let out his frustration in Dubai – despite being well place at the DP World Tour Championship.
The English LIV ace, known for his regular outbursts, is battling for his second title in three events.
And the winner of the latest tournament in the UAE will scoop $3million – nearly £2.4m – plus 2,000 points in the Race to Dubai rankings.
Hatton, 33, was upset with his poor iron shot at the par-five 14th hole on the Jumeirah Golf Estates course.
And even before the ball had landed he took controversial action.
Hatton twisted his club head on the turf to break it beyond repair.
Broadcasting legend Ewen Murray instantly condemned the seven-time European Tour winner.
The Scot, 70, who won three pro titles as a player, said live on air: “Oh, no. It’s time for change I am afraid.
“That is a terrible influence on the next generation, I am sorry to say – and I am his biggest fan as a golfer.”

Yet Hatton’s tirades earlier this year won the backing of many fans.
And after an X-rated meltdown at a LIV Golf Miami event in June one viewer labelled him “the most relatable sportsman of the modern era”.
His scorching verbal contributions has also been called “priceless” and “must-see TV” – especially when outspoken rivals John Rahm and Joel Dahmen are in close attendance.
And soon after his Miami mouthful Hatton whipped up another storm, this time in Nashville – as he blamed two fluffed putts on the wind.
