Real Madrid entered the 2024-25 campaign looking unbeatable.
The Spanish and European champions already possessed an outstanding squad featuring the likes of Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Jr, and then strengthened by adding French superstar Kylian Mbappe to their ranks.
But it’s not gone to plan.
Real Madrid have fallen to back-to-back home defeats and have lost two of their first four games in the Champions League – the latest a 3-1 loss to AC Milan at the Bernabeu.
Prior to that, Los Blancos were trounced 4-0 by rivals Barcelona in El Clasico, who they now trail by nine points in La Liga.
“We have to be worried, the team’s not giving a good account of itself,” said Ancelotti.

Some reports claim Ancelotti’s position is “one game away” from a full-blown crisis, while Spanish newspaper Marca claim Madrid have now ‘hit rock bottom’.
