A Sporting fan explained how his name is pronounced
Amorim is well known in his native Portugal after winning two league titles in four years.
His most recent success came last season which led to speculation he could join Liverpool or West Ham.
However he now looks destined for Man Utd and he is suddenly the name on everyone’s lips, with director of football Dan Ashworth appearing to favour him over the likes of Thomas Frank and Gareth Southgate.
But it appears many have been saying Amorim’s name incorrectly when discussing his possible switch to Old Trafford.
A Sporting fan spoke to SunSport ahead of their cup game against Nacional and revealed how it should be pronounced.
Instead of Ru-ben A-mo-rim, he pronounced the name as ‘Hoo-ben Am-mo-reem’.
Fans better learn quickly as Amorim could be announced as Ten Hag’s successor soon, with Man Utd reportedly willing to trigger his £8.3million release clause.
Sporting acknowledged Man Utd have been in contact and even confirmed the official approach with a letter to the Portuguese stock exchange.

But they did not confirm whether they have accepted United’s advances.
Representatives are understood to be in Lisbon to try and get a deal over the line for Amorim, whose Sporting deal lasts until 2026.
