And now United’s poor form has been compared to Neville’s nightmare tenure at LaLiga outfit Valencia.

The figures show that Neville had managed 28 matches, lost 11 games, scored 38 goals and conceded 39 before he was sacked in March 2016.

Neville’s reign would would reach its lowest ebb in February 2016, when his side were trounced 7-0 by Barcelona, and he has not return to management since.

But in Ten Hag’s case they show a record of 28 games, 13 losses, 35 goals and 45 goals conceded.

SunSport understands that Ten Hag will remain in charge for this week’s crucial fixtures against Porto and Aston Villa.

United sit 12th in the Prem with just seven points from their opening six games.

Neville said the first half against Tottenham was the worst he had seen United under the current manager.

Ten Hag now finds himself as the new FAVOURITE to be sacked next in the English top flight.

But the Dutchman, who is into his third season at the club, is confident that United’s decision-makers will give him time.

Asked about his future, Ten Hag said: “No, I am not thinking about this.

“We all made together this decision to stay together, as an ownership, a leadership group in the summer.

“Also we made the decision from a clear review what we have to improve and how we want to construct a squad.”

“But we knew it will take some time, how the window went, some players late in like Ugarte.

“We have to make some improvement in organisation, some injuries, we need some time.

Jamie Redknapp however said Ten Hag has “had enough time” and does not think he is “the man to take it forward”.

Redknapp told Sky Sports: “I’m seeing performances at the moment that are the kinds that get a manager sacked.

“I do feel sorry for the manager. He looks out of his depth, he looks lost.”

MANCHESTER UNITED suffered a 3-0 thrashing against Tottenham at Old Trafford.

Matthijs de Ligt – 4

Shocking first half. Failed to cut out the cross from Micky van de Ven which led to the first goal.

Lisandro Martinez – 5

Switched off for the Spurs goal and was drawn to the ball and Johnson was left unmarked.

Diogo Dalot – 5

Gave the ball away in dangerous areas and struggled against Johnson.

Manuel Ugarte – 5

Suffered a stinker and was lucky to last until the 73rd minute.

Kobbie Mainoo – 5

Not one of his better performances and was taken off just before half-time following Fernandes’ sending-off.

Marcus Rashford – 5

Over-ran the ball for Tottenham’s first. Way off the pace.

Bruno Fernandes – 4

Arguably the worst captain in United’s history. Deserved red card for his challenge on James Maddison.

Alejandro Garnacho – 6

Had United’s only chance in the first half but hit the outside of the post. Improved in the second half.

Joshua Zirkzee – 5

Looked completely lost up front – threatening to be another poor Erik ten Hag signing. Replaced at half-time.
