Sheena West’s four-year-old looks open to plenty of improvement after going close on his last hurdles spin at Stratford in August. He has since won easily on the Flat and travels really strongly. There’s more to come over jumps and this looks a good chance.
GET UP MUSH (3.30 Warwick, nb)
He has done well since going over fences, with two wins and a second before another solid fourth at Newton Abbot last time out. The Skeltons step him up in distance today, which looks a wise move, and he handles fast and slow ground so it doesn’t matter what the weather does.
MONTICRISTO BOY (6.30 Newcastle, treble)
He went close at Southwell the last time he tackled this trip on the all-weather. The handicapper has left his mark alone and we wasn’t beaten far into third at Musselburgh last time out.
CAPITAL GUARANTEE (4.30 Beverley, Lucky 15)
He came back to his best when second at Thirsk off this mark latest and trainer David O’Meara is in top form.
