Three clues Ronnie O’Sullivan and Laila Rouass had secretly split from missing engagement ring to social media posts

RONNIE O’Sullivan and Laila Rouass have called it quits after 12 years.

The Sun revealed their split last night after friends confirmed they had gone their separate ways.

Several clues suggested they had quietly split after 12 years together.

When they first met it was instant attraction for the snooker legend and glamorous actress Laila.

And it was a twist of fate that brought them together after she stumbled across Rocket Ronnie’s home in her property search.

They got engaged the following year later after a whirlwind romance – but have never walked down the aisle.

But last month the first public sign they had called it quites came when Laila, 53, ditched her engagement ring in recent TV appearances.

She raised eyebrows about the status of her long-term relationship with the snooker star during an appearance on This Morning without the rock.

Adding to the intrigue, the couple noticeably stopped posting about each other on social media.

Neither Ronnie nor Laila has shared any updates featuring one another, despite posting in the past.

In another sign it was over, the pair had been spending significant time apart recently.

Laila, seen attending events and outings solo, while Ronnie busy with his snooker commitments.

A friend of the couple told The Sun: “They’ve been through a lot in the past, but this time, things seem different.

“They’re spending a lot of time apart, and it hasn’t gone unnoticed by their friends.”

The couple briefly separated in 2022 before reuniting last year, with Laila confirming their reconciliation on social media at the time.

Neither Ronnie nor Laila has publicly addressed the split.

Matched up

They got together 12 years ago when Laila was house hunting.

She stumbled upon Ronnie’s pad not knowing it was his – or who he was.

Ronnie’s father showed her around the property, and passed on to his his son who had been round.

She told the Belfast Telegraph: “It happened by accident. I was shown around Ronnie’s house by his father, who told his son about meeting me.

“Ronnie called the estate agent, a friend of mine, and asked me out via her.”

She added: “When she said he was a snooker player, I said, ‘Yeah, but what does he do for a living?’ I’d never heard of him because sport doesn’t interest me at all, although Ronnie’s won me over to snooker!”

They quickly moved in together and Ronnie became a doting stepdad to Laila’s daughter Inez from her second married to businessman Nasir Khan, a convicted fraudster who was jailed for nine years in 2011 for a VAT scam.

However, Ronnie – a dad of three – found it tricky at first.

“It was so funny when Ronnie and I first lived together because he’d put his hands over his ears and go, ‘Whoaa, it’s so noisy here!’

Despite their longterm engagement they never walked down the aisle.

“I’d have to really gear myself up for a wedding,” she told The Sun earlier this year.

“At the moment we’ve put it on the back burner and we’re enjoying our time. There’s no rush.”
