Wolves vs Chelsea preview

As mentioned, Wolves and Chelsea were both beaten 2-0 last weekend.

But given those defeats were against Arsenal and Manchester City, respectively, it’s hardly a damaging start.

Wolves had their moments at the Emirates, too. Just a slight lack of quality in the final third holding them back from a very decent start.

Chelsea were the same in their home game with City. Again creating chances but lacking any sort of clinical edge.

They weren’t overly impressive in midweek, either. Although the 2-0 win over Servette looks a positive start to Europe, it wasn’t a vintage performance by any means.

Off the pitch, with big, senior players being told they’re surplus to requirements, Enzo Maresca has quite the job on his hands.

Is Wolves vs Chelsea on TV and can it be streamed?

Wolves vs Chelsea will be broadcast LIVE on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League.

Subscription members can stream the entire action on the Sky Go app.

Alternatively, SunSport will have minute-by-minute coverage of the whole match.

What is the team news?

Wolves are still without the suspended Nelson Semedo after his red card on the 2023/24 final day.

Leon Chiwome and Enso Gonzalez also miss out through injury.

For Chelsea, new signing Joao Felix is expected to play some part after joining the Blues again in midweek. Wesley Fofana sat out the midweek game but is expected to return, while Cole Palmer’s leg injury towards the end of the game isn’t expected to keep him out here.

Pedro Neto is pushing for a start against his former club, with Raheem Sterling and Ben Chilwell amongst those axed from the first team and expected to play no part.

Wolves vs Chelsea betting tips and predictions

Can’t split them

Defeats on their opening day, both sides will be keen to get something on the board this week.

Incredibly, Wolves have won this fixture three times on the bounce, with the latter a 4-2 win at the Bridge.

Not much in this though and Chelsea squad still having to gel.

Yellow warning

Like Moises Caicedo alongside him, Enzo Fernandez wasn’t very good last weekend.

This after being given the armband despite issues caused by racist remarks in the summer.

Has to have more of an impact here but sense he could end up trying too hard.
