CHELSEA were BOOED off at half-time following a dire first-half display against Swiss side Servette at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were yet again underwhelming – but this time in their Uefa Conference League first-leg play-off clash.

Large sections of Chelsea fans resorted to booing their own players as they headed for the tunnel with the score then goalless.

Enzo Maresca sent all eight players in his outfield bench to warm up just before half-time.

That was a measure of how bad they had been.

Servette were the better side in the opening 45, enjoying 10 shots to Chelsea’s four.

Marc Guiu, 18, missed a glorious chance inside the opening seconds after sliding along the glass in an attempt to put away a header for his first Chelsea goal.

Fans were less than impressed with the display that they had witnessed after the whistle signalled the end of the first half.

Chelsea were subsequently awarded a penalty, put away by Christopher Nkunku in the 50th minute.

But online fans remained fuming, with one writing: “Chelsea struggling against this Servette side?”

A second said: “We’ve had to rely on a penalty to get on the score sheet. I’m fed up!”

A third added: “How much are the team’s worth? Chelsea have spent billions.”

Chelsea should’ve been 2-0 up in the 52nd minute, after Guiu – who was playing his first full debut – missed another SITTER.

Guiu, closed down the Servette goalkeeper Jeremy Frick but then completely miss-kicked the finish when presented with an open goal.

Meanwhile, tensions rose before the match when away fans clashed with police outside Stamford Bridge.

And new £42.7m signing Joao Felix, 24, was also unveiled to the home supporters before kick-off.
