Man Utd legend Roy Keane reveals shock Premier League prediction as he tips giants to miss out on top four

ROY KEANE has left a Premier League giant out of his top four prediction.

The new campaign gets underway on Friday, with the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool looking to stop Pep Guardiola and his players from winning a fifth consecutive title.

Speaking on Stick to Football, brought to you by Sky Bet, Keane revealed his belief that Liverpool will blow their chances of a top-four finish.

The former United captain said: “Yes I think so Liverpool will miss out, unless they get a couple of signings in the next few weeks.”

In Liverpool’s place, Keane foresees Aston Villa and Manchester United in the top four after the Midland club’s stunning form last season.

Ian Wright had Liverpool and Villa as Champions League qualifiers, behind Arsenal as Premier League champions and Man City in second.

Liverpool finished third last season and won a record 10th Carabao Cup in Jurgen Klopp’s final season at the helm.

But Anfield is undergoing a mammoth period of transition as new boss Arne Slot gears up to lead them into a new era of football.

Former Lioness Scott mooted Erik ten Hag‘s side to get into the Champions League qualification spots somewhere.

Meanwhile Neville believes Liverpool won’t finish in the top six, and threw Tottenham into the top four in a bid to shake things up.

The Reds are currently the only Premier League team not to add any new players to their squad since the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

They were recently snubbed by Spain midfielder Martin Zubimendi, who opted to stay at Real Sociedad.

All the same, Jamie Carragher holds out hope for a good season for his former side.

Carragher said: “I don’t think they’ll tank, no. I think Liverpool overachieved last season in terms of being in the title race for so long.

“I don’t think anybody really expected that and if Liverpool had a similar sort of season, I’d be delighted.

“It remains to be seen, sometimes new manager, fresh voice and I know what you are thinking, David Moyes comes in after Sir Alex Ferguson.

“Or Unai Emery after Arsene Wenger, there’s going to be a huge shift, there’s no doubt about that. 

“But the pre-season has gone pretty well, beating United, beating Arsenal, good result against Sevilla. But there is a hole in midfield that needs filling massively.”
