FANS believe Olympics cult hero Doctor Rachael “Raygun” Gunn predicted her bizarre breakdancing routines SEVEN YEARS AGO.

The Australian, 36, went viral for her performances at the Paris Games.

She lost all three of her breakdancing battles, failing to score any points with her unorthodox moves.

Raygun‘s moves included mimicking a kangaroo and a snake.

But the university lecturer hinted at her unusual style in her PhD thesis seven years ago named: “Deterritorializing gender in Sydney’s breakdancing scene: a B-girl’s experience of B-boying”.

And fans now believe her words to be a sign of what was to come at the Olympics.

She wrote: “I use analytic autoetthnography and interviews with scene members in collaboration with theoretical frameworks offered by Deleuze and Guttari, Butler, Bourdieu and other feminist and post-structuralist philosophers, to critically examine how the capacities of bodies are constituted and shaped in Sydney’s breakdancing scene, and to also locate the potentiality for moments of transgression.

“In other words, I conceptualise the breaking body as not a ‘body’ constituted through regulations and assumptions, but as an assemblage open to new rhizomatic connections.”

Put simply, Raygun believes breakdancing should promote new, unusual dancing as opposed to conforming to normal structures.

This goes some way to explaining her routines in Paris – which were widely mocked on social media.

Raygun went on to defend her display after she failed to make it through the heats at the Olympic Games.

She said: “Don’t be afraid to be different.

“Go out there and represent yourself, you never know where that’s gonna take you.”

Raygun also criticised the decision to axe breakdancing from the 2028 Games in Los Angeles.

She said: “It was disappointing it was decided that it wouldn’t be in LA, particularly before we even had a chance to show it.

“That was possibly a little premature. I wonder if they’re kicking themselves now?

“What is an Olympic sport? What are the similarities between dressage and artistic swimming and the 100m sprint and the pentathlon?

“Breaking is clearly athletic, it clearly requires a whole level of dedication across a number of different aspects. It’s really bringing a new level of excitement.”
