ANGRY punters have demanded a lifetime ban after a jockey fell off the leading horse in ‘bizarre’ circumstances during a chaotic race.
An investigation has been launched into jockey Alvinio Roy following his spectacular unseat.

It looked like Roy was going to cruise to victory on the nine-year-old Special Force in a 7f contest in Mauritius.

But he took an untimely tumble when stretching ahead and was deemed unfit to ride the remainder of the meeting.
The stewards’ report read: “Soon after entering the straight, jockey A Roy (Special Force) lost his right stirrup, after which the left stirrup was out.
“Jockey A Roy seemed to have lost balance and fell off his mount. An enquiry will be opened into this incident.”
Footage of the fall was shared widely online and punters let their anger be known in an online poll.
Of almost 1000 votes cast on a Facebook post about the incident, the overwhelming majority were in favour of dishing out a lifetime ban to Roy.
One punter asked ‘how does this happen?’ while another labelled the scenes a ‘travesty’.
But any punishment will be down to the governing body.
The race itself was full of drama with two other jockeys being rushed to hospital after being unseated.
Only three of the seven starters finished the Flat race, which was delayed after one of the horses, Romanus, played up ‘violently’ in the stalls.
While another runner, Casimiro, fell and collided with two other horses, leading to the jockey pile-up.
The controversial race was won by 14-1 Alpenhorn while fellow 14-1 chance Rochester, a stablemate of Special Force, finished second.
