MANCHESTER UNITED were “robbed” against Arsenal in a friendly match on Saturday, according to some fans.

The Red Devils suffered a 2-1 defeat to Mikel Arteta’s side at the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Rasmus Hojlund opened the scoring after 10 minutes before Gabriel Jesus equalised.

Gunners winger Gabriel Martinelli then sealed the victory with a composed finish in the 81st minute.

However, several Man Utd fans have claimed that Arsenal‘s equaliser should not have stood.

Many believe Jesus was in an offside position before receiving the ball inside the six-yard box.

One person took to X to write: “Yeah, that Arsenal goal was clearly OFFSIDE.”

Another commented: “Arsenal have robbed Manchester United in another game, clear offside.”

While a third said: “My happiness is that the Premier League have worked to bring themselves alongside FIFA and the IFAB in terms of the latest offside update, which refers primarily to defenders and Arsenal won’t cheat anymore if we score a clear goal.”

United manager Erik ten Hag also claimed that Arsenal’s first goal was offside.

After the match, he said: “I think [the game] was a very good level for the third week of pre-season, from both sides, but in the first half I thought we were the better team.

“We scored a very good goal, a very good ball in behind from [Marcus] Rashford and then [Rasmus] Hojlund with a very good move and a finish, I was very pleased.

“We also created some more good chances and we then conceded the goal which was offside.”

Despite losing the match, United went on to win the penalty shootout.

But they suffered a huge blow when Hojlund and new signing Leny Yoro were forced off with injuries.
