The Clarets are looking to rebuild once again after their relegation from the Premier League.

But they’ll have to do it without Kompany, who has agreed a deal in principle to become the new Bayern Munich coach.

The Belgian is expected to sign a deal until June 2027 with the German heavyweights set to pay Burnley £10.2million in compensation.

Kompany’s departure has come as somewhat of a surprise to many after a lacklustre two-year spell at Anderlecht and top-flight relegation despite Burnley’s £100m outlay last summer.

Cooper remains a free agent having been sacked by Nottingham Forest over Christmas with his side languishing in 17th in the Premier League table.

The Welshman transformed the club’s fortunes having taken over with Nottingham Forest sat bottom of the Championship. He subsequently got them promoted via the playoffs and secured a 16th place finish in the 2022-23 campaign.

Parker is also considered to be a strong contender for the vacant position having achieved promotions with both Fulham and Bournemouth before things took a nosedive in the Premier League.
