John Fury breaks silence on headbutting Usyk team member as Tyson’s bloodied dad says ‘I’m a warrior, that’s what we do’

JOHN FURY has justified headbutting a member of Oleksandr Usyk’s team by insisting “I’m a warrior, that’s what we do”.

The father of Tyson Fury was left with a bloodied head after violently attacking Usyk’s pal Stanislav Stepchuk in Saudi Arabia on Monday.

Fury headbutted Stanislav Stepchuk – a member of Oleksandr Usyk’s team

It comes as Tyson prepares to step in with Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight crown on Saturday night.

Following the incident, John was later seen embracing Usyk‘s manager, Alex Krassyuk, after the pair talked things out.

But he was then full of trash talk once more during a TV interview as blood trickled down his forehead.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, he said: “[They] disrespected my son, the best heavyweight to ever wear a pair of boxing gloves.

“Coming out with all that rubbish. He’s in my face, trying to be clever.

“Coming into my space, ‘Usyk, Usyk’, nobody’s bothering with them. I was only chanting my own son’s name.

“They stepped closer, stepped closer. So I’m a warrior at the end of the day, that’s what we do. We’re fighting people, you come in the space, you’re gonna get what’s coming.”

John then went on to add: “It’s not about the fight. We’ve done everything we can, Tyson’s in fine fettle. You’re probably gonna see on Saturday night the best Tyson ever.

“But this is what he comes off, we’re fighting people. That [the headbutt] is a regular occurrence, seven nights a week for me, that. We’re not interested.

“So the last thing they’re going to do is get one over on me and my family. It will not happen.

“You’ve been disrespectful, we don’t talk, we don’t scream [punches his fist].”

And on the cut to his head, he said: “Who cares? Not me, it’s a bit of claret.”

Chants of “Usyk, Usyk, Usyk,” then began once more from the Ukrainian’s camp, before John returned with “Fury, Fury, Fury”.

He then looked back at the interviewer and defiantly declared: “Warlocks, warlocks”.

Inside the Gypsy King’s royal court

TYSON FURY is one of the biggest characters in sport.

The two-time heavyweight champion is not known for pulling his punches and lets both his fists and mouth do the talking.

Fury has seven children with wife Paris and recently hinted another is on the way.

Their family life is set to hit the screen again with season two of At Home With The Furys being filmed for Netflix.

The Gypsy King is Love Island star Tommy’s older brother.

He is heading for a £200million showdown with bitter rival Anthony Joshua and on track to become boxing’s first billionaire.

But daughter Venezuela has taken a cheeky pop at her dad for his bargain-hunting ways.

Despite boasting a monster car collection, he can often be seen pottering around town in a VERY modest motor.

Fury has opened up on his mental health struggles and shared insights into the diet behind his incredible body transformations.

As well as his talents in the ring, the Morecambe mauler is known for serenading fans in the ring and incredible bespoke, and sometimes tongue-in-cheek, fight-week suits.
