Novak Djokovic ‘wants huge rival Andy Murray’s MUM to be his new tennis coach’ after splitting from Wimbledon legend

ANDY MURRAY’S mum Judy is rated a shock contender to coach Novak Djokovic.

And he’s reportedly “considering” asking for help from Murray senior, 64, whose son was a fierce rival of the Serb for many years.

It comes just as injured Andy has hinted his time as a player might end soon.

His mum, 64, is a well-respected coach who captained Great Britain’s Fed Cup team from 2011-2016.

She has coached across many levels, mainly via British tennis’ governing body the LTA.

But although winning 64 titles in Scotland as a junior and senior in the 1970s, she promptly ditched any ideas of a professional playing career.

Judy is said to have lost enthusiasm for such a life after being robbed in Barcelona and feeling homesick.

Djokovic enjoyed a mesmerising 2023, reaching a record 24 Grand Slam titles by lifting the Australian, French and US Open crowns.

But this year the seven-time Wimbledon champion has spluttered.

Jannik Sinner sunk him in the Australian Open semi-finals and Djokovic was a surprise early casualty at Indian Wells.

But perhaps most telling was the tension that emerged with his coaches at Melbourne Park

He had a public falling-out with his team as they watched on.

Ivanisevic also revealed Djokovic was “not an easy guy” and asked him to stop “yelling” at his box while on court.

The pair then parted ways after six years together.
