Who is Dimitri Van den Bergh’s partner Evi Loyaerts?

DARTS player Dimitri Van den Bergh is riding high as the winner of the UK Open.

The sportsman beat world champion Luke Humphries at the March 2024 tournament and was congratulated on the impressive feat by his devoted fiancée Evi Loyaerts.

Who is Evi Loyaerts?

Evi is the partner of Belgian professional darts player Dimitri.

According to her Instagram bio, as of March 2024, she is 27 years old.

This makes her two years younger than Dimitri who turned 29 in July 2023.

Evi and Dimitri became engaged in April 2022.

They were due to marry in 2023 but the couple postponed their nuptials after Dimitri was invited to the World Series tournaments in New Zealand and Australia.

The wedding has since been moved to 2024.

Dimitri told Darts News after the 2023 World Matchplay: ”I can already reveal that it will be a summer wedding.

“We will make sure to pick a time where we are absolutely sure that nothing will get in our way on that day.

“We are going to wait for the calendar and then pick a date.”

Evi was quick to congratulate Dimitri after he won the 2024 UK Open, posting on Instagram that she was “indescribably proud.”

Dimitri took the victory, and the £110,000 top prize, at Butlin’s Minehead shortly after being booed by the crowd while taking an extended drink break.

The star was leading the match 10-8 when he slowed down the game, leaving his opponent Humphries looking visibly fed up.

Darts commentator Wayne Mardle has since defended Dimitri saying: “This has been blown out of proportion. Sport is about finding a way to win within the rules.”

He added: “The delay was when he was throwing for the championship. He was nervous and needed time.”

How long have Evi Loyaerts and Dimitri Van den Bergh been together?

Evi and Dimitri appear to have been together since 2020.

Dimitri first appeared on Evi’s Instagram in October of that year.

The darts player keeps his personal life more private on social media but he does refer to Evi as his “lady” in his Instagram bio.

In 2020 she uploaded a sweet picture of her and Dimitri kissing to her Instagram.

Underneath the snap she wrote: “Once in your life you meet your soulmate, your best friend and your very personal person.

“I know I found mine… Love of my life.”

She shared similar sentiments in April 2023 as she posted another heartwarming picture of her and her fiancé.

Alongside the photo she wrote: “Hard times, good times, love, ups and downs, laughter or cry… It will always be YOU no matter what.”

Do Dimitri Van den Bergh and Evi Loyaerts have any children?

Dimitri and Evi have one child together.

The couple welcomed their daughter Oonah in December 2021.

Dimitri announced that Evi was pregnant on his Instagram page in the summer of 2021.

He posted a picture of the ultrasound to his followers with the caption: “And so the love story moves on!”

The sportsman has been open about finding it difficult to balance his career with his family life.

Dimitri is often required to travel for different tournaments and competitions and Evi and Oonah are not always able to come with him.

“It’s all nice to experience, but behind the scenes you have to deal with sadness, loss and pain in the heart, because you have to leave your wife and little daughter behind,” he told Darts News in 2023.
