Man Utd legend Wayne Rooney lands BBC Sport role after major broadcasting announcement
WAYNE ROONEY will make his FA Cup debut as a pundit on BBC Sport.
It has been announced Rooney will join the panel of BBC analysts when Manchester United take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Rooney’s former club take on their Premier League rivals on Wednesday night in the FA Cup fifth round.
On his new role with the broadcaster, Rooney said: “Watching the BBC’s coverage of the FA Cup every year was always very special growing up.
“I’m so excited to be joining up with the team to cover what will undoubtedly be an action-packed tie in this historic competition.
“Having played and managed in the competition, it’s great be on the other side of the camera this time and hopefully I can bring some of that FA Cup experience to the coverage.”
Rooney, 38, won the FA Cup once as a player – in 2016 – and is the Red Devils all-time top goalscorer.
After retiring from football Rooney has moved into football management.
The former Everton star has held positions with Derby, DC United and Birmingham.
He was sacked from the latter position after just 84 days and 15 games in charge.

Rooney has since been linked with a sensational switch into influencer boxing.
However, England’s former top scorer denied an immediate switch despite talks, saying he wanted to focus on getting back into management.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, he said: “I think at the minute I want to focus on getting back into management, not boxing.
“They’ve been in touch, Misfits have been all over the news. I want to get back into management, that’s my focus.
“My main focus is getting back into football.”
And Rooney has had the door opened to him for a role at Manchester City by Pep Guardiola after he admitted he would “walk” to the Etihad for a chance to be the ex-Barcelona man’s assistant.
The Man City manager said: “I don’t know where he lives. It’s Cheshire? So it’s close.
“He can come any time, he’s more than welcome.”
