Clarke’s 12 goals have helped the Black Cats to sixth in the Championship table.

And the Standard claims he now attracting interest from five Prem giants.

Brentford, West Ham and Crystal Palace are all reportedly preparing bids for Clarke this month.

Brentford are in dire need of goals as they look to avoid a relegation battle, while Palace are set to be without Michael Olise after yet another injury setback.

As for West Ham, they feel Clarke can become a big squad player as they hunt another European finish.

They are also interested in Ajax’s Steven Bergwijn.

But with Lucas Paqueta and Jarrod Bowen injured, Clarke can make an immediate impact should he move to the London Stadium.

It’s reckoned there are two other teams in the hunt for Clarke, although they have not been named.

But Sunderland are desperate to hold on to their key man.

New boss Michael Beale reckons Clarke could fire the Black Cats back to the Premier League for the first time since 2017.

And Sunderland are sure to demand a juicy price from suitors, having previously turned down £15million from Burnley last summer.

Clarke is yet to make a top-flight appearance despite being snapped up by Tottenham from Leeds in 2019.

He featured four times in other competitions for Spurs before taking in loans at Leeds, QPR and Stoke.

Clarke joined Sunderland on loan in 2021 and helped them win promotion from League One before making his move permanent.
