Crystal Palace and Everton kick off the FA Cup third-round fixtures tonight.
And it’ll be interesting to see which side have the appetite for this contest after an arduous festive period.
The Eagles endured a difficult spell that included an eight-game winless streak, but did finally registered three points against Brentford last weekend.
As for Everton, they followed four-consecutive wins with three league losses to Tottenham, Manchester City and Wolves – conceding 2+ goals in each.
The Toffees played eight games in all competitions in December and that clearly overstretched Sean Dyche’s already slender squad.
Crystal Palace have fond memories of beating Frank Lampard’s Everton 4-0 in the FA Cup quarter-finals in 2022, but they’ve lost three of their four meetings since – including a 3-2 league defeat in November.

Roy Hodgson’s side finally got a win under their belts against Brentford in the Premier League last weekend.
But the influential Michael Olise, who scored twice in that fixture, is unavailable with a hamstring injury. He’s joined on the sidelines by the ever-present Jordan Ayew, who is away at the AFCON.
Crystal Palace have several other absentees, and that could play in to Everton’s hands who are expected to welcome back top scorer Abdoulaye Doucoure.
It’s no coincidence that Everton’s poor run of results coincided with the midfielder’s absence and his return to the starting XI could spark a revival.

Devastating Doucoure
In for a penny, eh? We’re doubling down on Abdoulaye Doucoure to stamp his authority on this fixture with a shot on target.
The 31-year-old has already registered six goals this season, including one against Crustal Palace back in November.

Ben Godfrey looks good value to be carded at 3/1 tonight. The versatile defender has been pushing for a start and should get his opportunity in a cup competition.
The 25-year-old has been limited to just 180 minutes of action this season, but he’s still averaging a foul every 40 minutes. The player will need to blow off the cobwebs and he’s never been shy of a making his presence known.
