Ghana midfielder Alfred Duncan could reunite with former coach Di Francesco at Cagliari
Alfred DuncanFiorentina midfielder Alfred Duncan could be reunited with his former coach Eusebio Di Francesco at Cagliari.This follows reports of Cagliari joining the chase for the Ghana international.Duncan has struggled to live up to the high expectations at Fiorentina and is currently not in the plans of coach Cesare Prandelli.The club, therefore, wouldn’t mind selling him in the winter transfer window next month.It is reported that Duncan has many suitors, including Cagliari, whose approach has been approved by Di Francesco.Duncan and Di Francesco worked together at Sassuolo for two years between 2014 and 2016.The former AS Roma coach believes Duncan can improve Cagliari’s season. They have been inconsistent and currently lie 13th after 14 games.He joined Fiorentina in February after a fantastic start to the 2019/20 campaign with Sassuolo.The 27-year-old had contributed to one goal and five assists in 13 league games.Thus, Fiorentina paid Sassuolo 15million for a four-year deal. But, has dropped down the pecking order, with just five appearances this season.Duncan is currently nursing a muscular injury and has been out of action since this month.
