2022 WAFU ‘B’ U-17: Another West African Derby Upon Nigeria As Golden Eaglet Draw Against Ghana, Togo
The newly appointed U-17 Golden Eaglet Coach, Nduka Ugbade starts with an Uphill task as the Eaglet were drawn against its fierce rival Ghana in the 2022 U-17 WAFU Zone B Tournament.
The Eaglet have been drawn against Ghana and Togo in Group A, while Ivory Coast draws Benin Republic, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic in group B.
Nigeria defeated Burkina Faso by a lone goal in the finals of the 2021 U-17 WAFU Zone B tournament held in Togo, to qualify for the U-17 AFCON.
2021 U-17 AFCON was to be held in Morocco but FIFA cancelled all Junior teams competitions in 2021 due to the rise in COVID-19.
The 2022 U-17 WAFU Tournament will Kickstart from Saturday, June 11 to Friday, June 24, 2022 in Cape Coast, Ghana.
The tournament will serve as the qualifying series for the 2023 U-17 AFCON.
The top two countries from this zone will qualify for the U-17 AFCON.
