2020/2021 Ghana Premier League : 23 goals produced on match day one

A total of 21 goals were scored by the various teams over the weekend when the Ghana Premier League bounced back.

The 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League set off with six drawn games and only one win from the respective teams on match day one.

Matches and Their results

The first match which was supposed to be the curtain raiser between Aduana and Hearts of Oak was called off as result of the covid- 19.

West African Football academy (WAFA) was the only
side that secured home win after they survived a scare by Kumasi King Faisal.
The game was the most interesting on match day one ended 4-3.

The seven goal thriller was set by Daniel Lomotey(brace), Konadu Yiadom,
Godwin Agbevor for WAFA and for King Faisal Kwame Pepprah (brace) and Wadudu
Yakubu

Obuasi Ashanti Gold failed to capitalize on home advantage and was held to a 2-2 draw by Karela United.

Ashgold had goals been scored by Appiah McCarthy and Hans Kwofie for as Diawusie Taylor and Samuel Ofori score for Kare United.

Ali Ouattara scored for Medeama SC with Michael Yeboah getting the equalizer for Great Olympics .

The Cape Coast Elmina clash also failed to produce a winner after Ebusua Dwarfs were held 2-2 at home by Elmina Sharks.

Scorers for Dwarfs were Dennis Korsah, Issah Razak and Elmina Sharks also got Richard Mpong and Ishmael Hammond registering two goals respectively.

Highly ranked side Kumasi Asante Kotoko were held to
a pulsating 1-1 draw by Techiman eleven Wonders on Sunday evening.

Kwame Poku’s lead for Kotoko was cancelled by substitute Prince Okraku for Eleven Wonders.

The game between Legon City and Berekum Chelsea also ended 1-1. John Attuquaye scored for Legon City and Stephen Amankona also scored for Chelsea.

Liberty Professionals and Bechem United shared the
spoils at the Dansoman Sly Tetth Park on Monday afternoon.  The game finished 1-1 with George Ansong scoring
for Liberty Professionals on the 20th minute. Stephen Owusu equalized for
Bechem United in the second half.

The game which was originally scheduled for Sunday had to be postponed to Monday because tests results for Bechem United were not in.

Inter Allies vs Dreams

Match day one ended
with a barren draw when Inter Allies played host to Dreams FC in Accra on
Monday night.
